#8 Stand Behind Your Leaders if Possible

Stand Behind your Leaders if Possible
It was always understood that the district board had the final say in all matters. However department directors felt free to explain any actions they were taking and to state their opinions without fear of retribution from the district board. They followed the old adage that states, “You can have your say, if not your way.”
One responsibility of the Sunday school director was to organize and run the annual kids camp. This means we have at least 3,000 people on the grounds with approximately 250 people who worked each year. It can be quit challenging to meet everyone’s needs and expectations. One thing God has blessed our district with is people with a willing spirit to work and give much time with little or no pay.
Unfortunately there are some people who expect to be exempted from the rules. They want special treatment. For instance, anyone coming onto the Louisiana district camp grounds during our kid’s camp had to show ID and give the reason for their visit. We had a lot of small children we were responsible for. Some thought that they, or their family members, were too well known to follow this procedure and complained about it to Brother Tenney. He stood behind our staff stating that everyone was expected to follow the rules.
