Should a pastor involve a church board on matters pertaining to an individual person’s private matters?
Under normal circumstances it is not advisable for a pastor to "share" information regarding people in his local assembly. There could be times that person’s actions may involve the entire church (legal etc.) and a church board may need to be apprised of a situation. Under no circumstances should a pastor betray a person's trust or confidentiality. Exceptions to this may be that a pastor may discuss things with another pastor and not be considered a breach of confidentiality. Legally most States have laws that prevent a minister from having to divulge information that has been given to him in a confession, or in counseling. You should study you states laws to determine what the law requires you to divulge and to what authorities.
